This is the best PC game controller ever made, and it isn’t even a PC game controller. It is basically useless on it’s own, out of the box, but in conjunction with Steam, is unfreakingbelievable.

Works as described. A tip, if you have a charging station/ dock for your ps4 , you are going to need the original type of charging cord to pair the controller with the system.

Learned a long time ago that it can damage your PlayStation if you use another brand for critical accessories. The controller works just as it is supposed to. It would be helpful if the USB cable was longer, but an extension cable overcomes that shortcoming. The only serious problem is they are a bit delicate. Drop them a few times even from a short distance and you’d better go ahead and get a new one so you’ll be ready when that one fails.

Awesome, I love these controllers. They’re not perfect, but they’re really good controllers. Very high quality and feel great to use especially when they’re brand new. After using them for awhile the soft texture begins to rub off, and it takes a slicker surface feel, but it’s not a problem for me at all.

Authentic is the best way to go! Just be careful with the joysticks. I would let mine fall on the floor and think nothing of it and leave it there, and being so careless is why I needed a new controller.

Bought this to be the newest and best working controller, and was not lucky. As with all playstation controllers it seems, a few things go wrong. Square button is sometimes non-responsive for a second (usually at those crucial reload sections) and the audio when using headphones (tried with multiple different headsets) sometimes breaks up during louder times. The new tougher L3 R3 toggles are holding up nicely though.

Great! However, just incase you dont know it does not come with a micro USB cable. Colors for the buttons and analog sticks are grey compared to the old ps4 controller which are pitch black.

This is the best console controller imo. Compare to the previous models the new one is way lighter. Doesn’t feel heavy at all. Thumbsticks have a better feel and doesn’t feel as loose as the older model.

Maybe I use the joysticks to hard but the plastic of the controller cuts into the plastic of the joystick…same problem with previous one that I had to replace…

Good quality. Location of 2 thumbsticks, 4 directional buttons, and 4 action buttons permit the crab-grip technique. The touchpad is good. The motion control is good. As of late 2016, the DS4 is now fully supported on Steam for the Windows PC.

There are a lot of reviews that already cover how great this controller feels, so I will just say I completely agree.
Where I found the somewhat unexpected treat was how well it works with the PC. With the right remapping software (in my case Input Mapper) this becomes an amazing Bluetooth or USB controller for PC gaming, including rumble support! You can use the touchpad to control the mouse and scroll (two-thumbs) around your desktop. This is perfect for HTPC use and inventory management in older and non-controller supported games. I was able to map keys to all of the buttons and mouse emulation on the analogue sticks to play The Witcher (first one) very smoothly, using the touchpad for inventory and menu management where a normal controller would’ve just left the game unplayable or still mouse-dependent.
On Mac OS X this controller does work great as a standard Bluetooth or USB controller as well, it just does not have support for rumble or the touchpad. It is still a great controller for this, just disappointing to not be able to control the mouse like on Windows.

I charged this the day I got it. I have not charged it in 2 months, using it daily (I use my ps4 mostly to watch netflix and hulu) and it still has 2/3 battery left. that’s crazy even for only using it about 20-30 minutes per day.

The d-pad is definitely the best outside available of a fighting game pad.
Other Thoughts: PS4 controller is probably the best overall gaming pad. The position of the analog sticks isn’t as good as on an XBox-style pad, but that’s the tradeoff for having the best dpad on a mainstream controller by a very large margin.
